I strongly dislike cod's gunplay, thinking a WWII skin would essentially be just a rebranded version like all the others after 4. I really liked Red Orchestra 2 and BF 1943—it would have been a great PC experience.

It's likely they'll revert to an earlier time. Modern shooters developed from WWII-style games, which themselves came from that era. It's clear the WWII genre was overused. Generally, the concepts or stories were decent, such as MoH airborne (with some issues later) and CoD 3 multiplayer, which I found really enjoyable with its class system and maps for the time. If you haven't played it, I highly suggest it—especially since it's not available on PC anymore. Otherwise, I'd be playing it right now! Cod 2 offers one of my favorite single-player campaigns. WWII Shooters should return, but futuristic shooters keep selling until that phase fades. Until then, we won't see any strong WWII titles, and once a good one appears, we'll crave more futuristic options soon. I think the problem with World at War wasn't its quality—it was made when we preferred more current or future gear. I believe the game is solid overall, and its zombie mode is top-notch compared to the rest of the series. That's just my take. I still remember being impressed by the graphics in the first Medal of Honor!

It seems the schedule feels inconsistent lately. While each CoD title now takes about three years to develop, recent releases over the past few years haven’t lived up to expectations. It’s frustrating when you’re investing regularly but the experience doesn’t match your expectations anymore.

Not into any COD titles anymore. I used to play COD4 a lot, a bit of COD2 and COD6 too. They haven’t changed much for me. COD isn’t really what I enjoy.

Absolutely. I’m frustrated by all this future talk that only adds fuel for Mike Bay’s style. Want a quick rundown of modern, WWII-era, and some classic 'Nam?

Another WWII first-person shooter? Yeah, I’m into it. I really enjoy taking down enemies with an M1 Garand. Those early Call of Duty titles were great too. Medal of Honor had its own appeal. The Modern Warfare series was fun, and Black Ops didn’t really hook me. After that game, I haven’t played anything else online. I prefer campaigns, missions, and storytelling. Is World At War getting a remaster or is there a completely new version on the horizon?

I'm not sure, but I was wondering if folks would be interested in a WWII CoD. I began playing World at War and it's really sparking my desire for a fresh WWII Call of Duty title. Or maybe something like Battlefield could be great too.
