Your R9 5900x stopped working suddenly last week after some strange behavior earlier. Even changing RAM and power supply didn’t fix it. Now it just powers off completely. After replacing the motherboard and PSU, I’m pretty sure the CPU is no longer functional. I’m currently using a spare system. I’ve already started the return process, but I’m curious about how long it usually takes for an RMA to be resolved. Also, what steps did you need to take to get approval? AMD seems to expect a detailed build with MoBo BIOS (which requires a POST) and handwritten serial numbers in front of a non-posting test bench with troubleshooting notes. That felt a bit too much for me. What are your thoughts?

You're not sure about your location, but in Europe you can return the item directly through the store we purchased it from—no need for extra steps. Could that work for you?

Rural Texas, USA. Online services aren't available. Everything is handled in person or through the post office.

I believe you need to handle the circus. I discovered this piece on AMD RMA here: https://medium.com/@kennethandres/my-amd...bcfd1e96da
