I don’t often play Fortnite, but it’s worth checking out. You’re using an i7-10700, non-K, and an RX 6600 with an RDNA 2.0 8GB card. It runs most games well at high or max settings, though Fortnite still causes minor stuttering even at good framerates. I’m not sure what’s causing the issue. You tried switching to DX12 rendering, but that made things worse. With 16 GB of RAM in dual channels, that shouldn’t be the problem. Let me know if you need more advice.

Tested the newest 22.5.2 drivers—they should boost performance and could ease this issue. It might be a CPU limitation. Fortnite tends to hit CPU limits quickly. Consider capping your FPS to match the refresh rate. Also, Radeon optimization in Fortnite is quite poor.

I possess an i7-11700K with nVidia 3070ti. The game runs smoothly except for occasional delays that occur each time it starts, typically during commutes. It often pauses for 10 to 30 seconds at the loading screen or even later when I’m on a bus. I suspect this isn’t a CPU or GPU issue since it disappears when I disable recording activity, hinting the problem relates to the storage drive. The anti-cheat system is active, and such lag is common in competitive titles like Valorant, Apex, Fall-guys, etc., where it can disrupt fair play. You’ll notice this pattern in other games with multiplayer features. To maintain smooth performance, avoid lowering graphical settings. I can enable DLSS or ray tracing for better visuals, but the input-to-action delay remains poor. It’s best to turn off motion blur and anti-aliasing to preserve frame rates.

My i7 9700 runs consistently near its peak performance of 75 watts during Fortnite gameplay at 1080p with 144Hz.
