It's common for theft to occur in LAN environments, isn't it? And have you experienced any unauthorized access?

Are you sure? I usually visit LANs with friends, so I didn’t think much about it. I haven’t heard any of my friends having issues with their accounts either. From what I’ve seen, the LAN groups in New Zealand are pretty close-knit, and if something like this happened, they’d be quick to address it.

I noticed a discussion on a forum about swapping a GTX 680 to a 560 Ti. Since it was a MW3 competition, they only realized the change wasn’t known until after the event.

Impressive if you consider it as small creatures and input devices rather than powerful graphics cards.

I and my brother had a kind of LAN party once, and we both used the same wireless mice. The guy snatched the receiver and dropped it into his laptop, and I was really flustered because I just got the mouse.

I haven't visited any of them, but you can easily obtain a ghetto lock for your PC and use it with your USB devices.

What's the flying fawk? Don't they have cameras and equipment at LAN parties? Why didn't anyone catch on?

I've heard about this before, and it wouldn't be unexpected if it occurs occasionally. I've only attended two large LANs, and personally it hasn't caused any issues. I believe the person is referring to LANs like Dreamhack, etc. Smile

My original copy of Warcraft 3 was taken during a LAN Party back in 2005. It was a tough day. At Dreamhack’s Security role, there were many thefts—people buying event tickets just to steal and resell them. Fortunately, some resales are now being stopped because the Police and Dreamhack staff are closely monitoring the IRC Trade Channel they manage at Dreamhack.

It's been a while since I posted, but I finally managed to get my Func Surface mousemat back after my very first Dreamhack in Winter 2004. That was the only time it got taken from me on a LAN!
