Steam works well for recording gameplay, though the text is concise. It’s not overly intrusive during play. I’ve heard from friends using EVGA overlays and experienced issues with Afterburner conflicting with other apps.
From Steam since I mainly play Steam games, but if I skip them, I’d switch to FRAPS. I don’t want FRAPS for Steam because someone got banned before. I just don’t want to become another victim. Of course, the FPS counter helps you understand what’s happening with the game—high FPS lets you go higher in graphics, otherwise just keep playing.
