If purchasing items lifts your spirits, a motherboard lacking a CPU might seem like a cheap item, yet it probably won’t be kept long.

I'm getting new CPU in 2 weeks and most of the time product I would buy don't get big discounts on black Friday so me getting it now before the price goes up is a smart move. With your logic I would have to buy whole PC same day as not to leave it as a paperweight. Getting new CPU on release date is never a great deal.

Consider this from another angle – as someone who frequently sells on Amazon, eBay, Mercari and similar sites, I’m deeply concerned about the way products are handled. The notion that “Earth’s most customer-focused company” ships items in such a manner is truly unacceptable. Whether it’s a small calculator or a high-end motherboard, unpackaged goods are never okay. I also disapprove of items arriving in envelopes. For instance, I’ve received video games shipped in envelopes, and the cases were completely damaged upon arrival. When I raised concerns, sellers often dismissed me with phrases like “it’s just the packaging” or “that’s retail stuff.” As a collector, I know how crucial it is to keep the game box intact. From my viewpoint, what Amazon calls “retail packaging” should be included in the item’s price. It’s not free; it’s part of the cost. Collectors understand that protecting the case or box is essential. When Amazon labels such packaging, it’s a clear sign of poor handling. I believe items like motherboards can be resold once used, but with Amazon’s practices, their value drops before anyone even opens them. To maximize profit, original packaging and accessories must be intact. Here, they’re missing, and once a shipping label is applied, the item loses its new condition. If you want the best price, I urge you to return the product. You paid for a new item and shouldn’t settle for less. Selling across multiple platforms makes me uncomfortable with Amazon’s shipping methods – if individual sellers followed this approach, they’d face overwhelming returns and negative reviews, making it unsustainable. While some items let you check for packaging before shipping, customers shouldn’t be blamed if they don’t see it. That box should never be included unless it’s part of the original shipment. The idea that unpackaged delivery is acceptable is completely unrealistic. It’s shocking that even Prime members don’t always get a protective box.
