The only game I’ve ever placed ahead of time was Poker Night 2 by Telltale games, and I did so mainly because it was very affordable (and I also purchased some TF2 items... It turned out I only played a few days).

I usually wait for a title before pre-ordering (like Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, or Dragon Age: Inquisition). Occasionally I lose interest, but I generally enjoy the games and get around $1 per hour of playtime, which feels worthwhile to me.

I’m happy the preorder went through. I paid $49.99 AUD on Steam, and it jumped to $89.99 AUD a few hours later. The Australian tax added up—really frustrating!
