For gamers using 1440p, you typically choose either 2x or 4x AA depending on your preference. It’s not clear if you use 2x or 4x specifically for 1440p, but many opt for 2x as a balanced setting. In 1080p you might already notice the difference, so it’s worth experimenting to see what feels best for you.

2x works well at that setting, though it depends on personal taste. I’m more comfortable lowering the resolution than reducing AA down.

800x600 resolution on a 24-inch display, no AA required. Push it hard!

The maximum capacity of your card is 0, but it could be up to 16x.

I usually change between no AA and 2x (24" 1440p), keeping the eye candy at a steady 60FPS.

I don’t feel comfortable with batteries below 4x AA on my PG278Q.

It really depends on the game. I'm fine turning off AA for a bit more FPS if needed. If possible, I try to enable SMAA through drivers. I usually experiment with different games to see what works best for them. It also comes down to your vision—my eyes aren't great, so I don’t notice those visual distortions in gameplay and it doesn’t bother me.

I don’t really care about the difference between 2x, 4x or 8x at 1080p. They all seem identical to me. The slight difference between 2x and 0 isn’t noticeable, as long as everything else is optimized. I just turn off the FXAA since it doesn’t affect my FPS, and even without it, I barely notice anything.

I mostly pick 0 or 2x settings, except for older games where I stick to the highest option.
