They don’t ensure quick responses or consistent performance. There’s no guarantee of fast connections or reliable speeds. You shouldn’t expect a specific outcome, since they don’t provide details about the rates you’re paying for. It’s a good thing you’re not among those who lack internet access in the US—many people face challenges getting wired broadband.

Did you harm your modem? After switching it off and on daily because you thought a 10 ping was needed, but now you're seeing 40 ping?

NO you didnt damage your modem. Ive had the same modem for over 5 years and its been shut down, the power has gone out and shit probably survived a surge or two. Your problem is you dont listen to what we are telling you. Xfinity does not provide a a guarheened ping PERIOD. Docsis cable internet has a higher ping PERIOD. Outside of switching to Ethernet which you already use, there is not a thing you can do the lower your ping. You need to stop obsessing over your ping, its unhealthy.

You're asking if your ping will continue to increase each year.

What you're saying is that you can't change your ping. It's what it currently is. You're using Docsis cable internet, which tends to have higher ping. You'll just need to adapt to it. Perhaps when they release Docsis 4.0 in about ten years, pings will improve.

I believe a 1 Gbps connection would cost around $70 to $80 each month. However, it's important to verify they provide service in your location. Just because AT&T operates nearby doesn't guarantee fiber access. Most of AT&T's network still uses ADSL or VDSL technology. Fiber is typically available only in affluent areas where investment is higher.

Sure, I can help with that. What are your thoughts on paying $100 for a 1 Gbps connection with Xfinity?

Review the pricing plan. Prices vary depending on your location. Also, a 1 Gbps plan with Xfinity isn't the same as AT&T's. With Xfinity you get about 1.4 Gbps down and 45 Mbps up. At least that's what it was before they changed all the plan names. This is the rate card for my area. I'm sure Gigabit Extra offers 1.4 Gbps down and 45 Mbps up, while Ultra fast might be 800/20, and Fast could be 300/10.
