Does GTA V use a lot of RAM? (System memory, not GPU) I’ve got 4 GB of RAM. Edit: To run I3 I had to sell another stick, and I’m still short on funds.

The minimum requirement is 4GB, but an 8GB is suggested for better performance. Your current system RAM is likely close to the final benchmark results for the game.

I tested it with 6GB, used 2.8GB and RAM was at 98% capacity. That worked.

You may need to reduce performance for a 4 GB device.

It consumes more than 4.5gb during play and requires a lot of VRAM. My 2GB 760 struggles with high settings, so I had to reduce some assets. For more details, check the link provided.

While playing GTA5 it takes about 3.8GB of RAM. My system and other programs use an average of 2.1GB, which means I’m typically using around 6 out of 8GB when gaming. For VRAM and graphics I’m at normal textures with high settings everywhere else. I usually sit at the 60s and drop to the low 50s occasionally. My VRAM is around 1.7GB on this machine. All this is running on my 670 with 2GB RAM.

Playing it causes the system to use more than 9GB of RAM and Vram stays under 3.4GB. Still, I keep a secondary monitor running with afterburner, temperature monitoring, Skype, and a Chrome window open with around 12 tabs active. Probably my own mistake...
