No Fps Change when Overclock
I discovered my PC was limited by my CPU (AMD FX-8120). I began overclocking and followed a complete guide to do it safely. After completing all those steps, I noticed there was no improvement in FPS. This made me anxious, so I checked if the GPU could also be overclocked. Since I’m new to this, I tried that too but still saw no change! What’s happening? I really need an explanation or assistance. Additionally, I’ve noticed no FPS changes even when switching between high and low graphics settings. What should I do next? I made notes to track any FPS changes and asked for more details if needed.
Your initial frame rate was before the changes, and the extent of the overclocking was modest. To demonstrate that your CPU was limiting performance, I aimed for a maximum of 33 frames per second, which would represent a 10% increase from the baseline. In practice, you might have achieved between 31 and 32 FPS.
More info needed. Whats your overclocked frequency of your cpu now? Whats your gpu? How much did your overclock your gpu? What games are you testing?
It looks like VSync or a frame rate cap might be the issue, possibly another type of bottleneck. I don't know your specifications.
Try downloading Unigine Valley > Extreme HD > Test again with and without overclock. It evaluates various situations and provides an average score, making comparisons simpler.
