I'm 19 and haven't been interested in games much lately. Using my PC has become less appealing, especially since I lost interest in games over the past year. I did enjoy Garry's Mod in sandbox mode for a while, building cars and spending hours, but it eventually got boring. It seems you need a game that really captures your attention to get back into gaming.

I know what you mean but dang TW3 was great. I had never played a Witcher game before and it hooked me. The Hearts of Stone DLC is really awesome as well. I'm starting to believe the Maxwell cads run so much better than Keplar on that game since I got the 970 from the 770... RMA upgrade... Game can run SOOO much higher settings now and maintain a much better experience.

I think it’s normal for everyone at some stage, particularly for those who grew up playing in the 80s and 90s. Today’s games can feel dull if you’re lucky enough to find something appealing… which is uncommon. *pick your game* ."This looks fine" …I’m really diving in now." Within 1–3 days (6–20 hours) …"It’s done." For me, I’ve been disinterested in gaming for about five years or so, attributing it to the lack of quality titles. Although it’s been over five years since big AAA releases became rare, it really impacted me five years ago when I stopped playing my regular MMOs and began relying on non-MMO games. That shift made me realize how serious the situation was in the gaming market. Ten years ago I enjoyed 25+ games a year, but now it’s only about one a year if I’m lucky. That’s just disappointing. I could jump to other topics about the industry today versus ten years back… but I won’t. If you’re finding gaming boring right now, just settle in—you’ll be here a while if I’m honest.

I believe you're highlighting a significant concern. The frequent updates every few years just to maintain performance above 60+ Hz and high settings is frustrating. Game developers often release unfinished titles at launch, which diminishes the overall experience and enjoyment. $60 now, patch later. For me, the issue with TW3 started when I bought it right after its release. Typically, I wait until it has developed further—through reviews, expansions, DLCs, and mods—usually around 6 to 12 months post-launch. I prefer seeing the bigger picture first. With TW3... we're currently at patch 11, excluding Heart of Stone. Applying patch 11 on GOG is a huge hassle with a 10 GB update for a game that's roughly 35 GB. My internet speed is slow. Given these large patches, it raises doubts about whether the game was fully prepared for release.
