Looking for two 8GB memory modules for your Ryzen 3600 and an AMD RX 580 Patriot Viper 4 with the specified RAM specs. Prices around $85 each, dual-channel configurations, compatible with CL16 and CL17 sockets.
Based on the reviewed clocks, the Patriot Viper Steel 2 x 8GB DDR4 3600MHz CL17 appears to be the top choice.
All five options use DDR4, identical settings, and matching speeds, so the change likely won’t affect performance much. You can pick any based on how it matches your build’s style. CORRECTION: Oops, I misinterpreted the clock readings. In that scenario, the Patriot Viper CL17 will be the quickest.
As @Streetguru mentioned, a budget DDR3600 would suit me. I checked the QVL and found a few listings around $90. The brand seems to be G.Skill, which offers good warranty support.
I don’t really care about brand names much. But manufacturers of motherboards do. They evaluate and verify various brands and models. You might find a reference to which brands were tested on a particular maker. If the memory was checked, there could be an automatic setting that restores it to what the board manufacturer expects it to perform. As @Princess Luna The viper has the top raw printed results, though those might shift once they’re in the system.
You can use any standard 3200MHz kit. Check if the additional funds can be used for a GTX 1660. Spending more doesn’t really make much difference.
Pro4 meets the needs for handling 3600mhz cl16. The QVL builds on the earlier IMCs from Ryzen 1K and 2K. It’s not necessary to invest more than $3200 in a 3600mhz kit since the performance is solid and any extra gains are minimal.
