No drawbacks associated with port aggregation.
No drawbacks associated with port aggregation.
I understand you're unsure about the pros and cons of using it. Since your motherboard has two GBe LAN ports, your router can handle port aggregation, and you already have two LAN cables. However, with only GBe internet speed, there might be limitations in bandwidth or performance compared to higher-speed options.
Even with a motherboard that allows aggregation, there are no advantages. The router's port aggregation is designed for NAS systems and multiple users, enabling simultaneous access by more than one person at speeds exceeding 1Gbit per user. Internet performance remains unaffected.
I point out that there are no advantages, yet are there any drawbacks?
