I assembled a new PC using the Asrock B550M Pro4, but after installing Windows 11 Pro, no sound device was detected. The Device Manager lists no unrecognized hardware. I attempted to install the Realtek HD Audio driver version 9030.1_UAD_WHQL_Nahimic from the manufacturer's site. The installation appeared successful, and the device now appears in Device Manager. However, audio output from the MB port or the case front panel remains absent. After clearing the boot SSD and reinstalling Windows 11 Pro, the issue persisted. I adjusted the BIOS settings to Auto and Enabled, but it didn’t resolve the problem. I also reset the BIOS to its default configuration, yet no sound appears. Are there other steps you could consider?
Are you using a GPU? Then you likely have the audio configured via the GPU. You probably have a window where you can assign which circuit handles sound—like the NVidia GPU in my setup. If that doesn’t work, verify the volume settings. Edited March 7, 2023 by leclod
I've checked that the audio is not being routed to the HDMI display. That is not the issue. The issue is that there is no other device available. It is like the motherboard audio chip does not exist.
