Hello everyone, I'm facing an issue with my PC today. I couldn't launch any programs and thought it might be related to storage problems, so I restarted the machine. However, when it tried to boot, it showed a "No boot device detected" error. The BIOS confirms the drive is present but doesn't treat it as a boot option. My motherboard is an ASRock B550 Steel and the drive is a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe SSD. Thanks in advance for your help.
BIOS configured exclusively for UEFI with CSM turned off. Boot sequence lists Windows Boot Manager for the NVMe device, not just the raw disk. The storage card resides in the main M.2 port connected directly to the CPU, not a chipset-only port. If it remains invisible, the EFI partition or boot files might be damaged. Try launching Windows from a USB installer, navigate to Repair → Troubleshoot → Startup Repair, or execute bootrec /fixboot via CMD. This usually restores the boot configuration. It’s also important to verify you have the most recent BIOS for the Steel Legend; early B550 firmware contained NVMe boot issues. With these steps, the 970 Evo should now boot successfully again.
You're trying to transfer your data onto a different machine but are facing access issues due to limited admin privileges. There might be ways to work around this, such as using a network share, copying files manually, or checking if your account has sufficient permissions. Consider consulting system administration tools or seeking help from someone with access to your accounts.
