I’m assembling a new computer and everything seems to power up. Fans are spinning, lights are on, the GPU and CPU fans are running. RAM is lighting up. I’ve reinserted the CPU, motherboard and GPU cables multiple times. The GPU isn’t the issue since it worked on my previous setup. Using RAM from my old machine didn’t help either. Likely the problem is with the CPU or the motherboard. Right now I’m resetting the CMOS settings for a Ryzen 5600 XFX RX6700 with an 500GB M.2 SSD, 4TB HDD, OLOY owl RGB 2x8GB, and 3600MHz EVGA Supernova 650GB.

Certain motherboards require a BIOS update for Zen3 (5000-series) Ryzen processors. This could be a possible concern. However, Ryzen models tend to perform well with Crucial Ballistix RAM, but verify that the RAM matches the processor and board specifications.

I own a B550 Aorus Elite V2 (revision 1.0). The forum mentioned it works with the 5000 series, though I’ll upgrade the BIOS just in case.

Thanks a lot. I believed Ryzen Ready meant it was fully updated for immediate use with the newest version. Finally, it started!

A good offer means the BIOS can work, either after an update or from the start. I had a chance with my Asus TUF B550-PLUS—it was fully functional right out of the box. Some models required BIOS tweaks, which is why it's wise to choose a board that allows USB flashing or at least preserves your old chipset if needed. You could also mention that purchasing a board means you have no idea how long it has been on the shelf. Even if a maker advertises its latest batch as 5000 units, what you receive might be several months old and not from that claimed production run.
