Just bought an EVGA 1080 to upgrade my old PC from a 1060. After installing it, everything shows up on my monitor but I’m seeing a black screen. The input works with different cables, but the GPU only ran for a few seconds before showing a horizontal dead pixel. After updating drivers, it’s completely blank now. I switched the PCI to Gen3 but the issue persists. Could be a faulty card or a mismatch—maybe I’m getting a bad product. My system specs are: Intel i5 8600K, MSI MPG Z390, 16GB RAM, cooler Master, liquid cooler.
I think your GPU might be malfunctioning. The EVGA 1080s were often reported to fail prematurely and generally performed poorly. It’s possible it simply stopped working in your setup. Disassemble the card and share a photo of the PCB—usually, visible signs indicate what went wrong.
