I purchased the full Arma 2 version to play Dayz, but accessing servers was extremely difficult. There were only around 20 servers in total, and none had more than 40 players. Even getting into a server—regular or Dayz—was nearly impossible because it would always load the "receiving data" screen first. I switched to Arma 3 and used Epoch, which offered many more servers, with most having over 60 players and some exceeding 100. Personally, I think Arma 3 is better or Dayz could work if you're new, though I have no experience with it and don’t know its current status.
