It all hinges on the phone model you own. If you possess a Verizon or ATT device with an existing modified bootloader, simply download and install it (CM 12.1 is available). Without a modified bootloader, your options are limited since Samsung addressed the exploit shortly after launch. For variants where the bootloader remains unlocked, proceed as before—download and flash a custom recovery. Note: You mentioned the i9500 model; rooting, disabling the bootloader, and installing a custom recovery will let you flash any Lollipop ROM you desire.
