About an hour ago (at the time of writing) I lost internet access to my room and then everything gradually returned. Since my bedroom lacks any ports for a connection (unlike the rest of the house), I’m currently using Ethernet over power via a TP-Link kid. This appears to be the TL-PA4010P or possibly the TL-PA9020P kit (though I’m not sure if it’s an AV1000 or AV500 model). I bought it when I had a laptop, and the Wi-Fi was unstable near the laptop—only in my room did I experience issues. My phone works fine. I’ve been considering removing the cover in my room and connecting directly from the router for a stable Ethernet link, but I don’t have the expertise or resources for that. Everything seems to be working now; the 2.5 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi connections appear to connect smoothly, yet my Ethernet remains offline. The TP-Link PLC Utility says everything is normal and expects Mbps to flow from the router to my room. It seems the display showing two 5 GHz channels is unusual, as it should show just one. Have anyone else encountered similar problems?

5GHz is the frequency range Wi-Fi uses. It’s unrelated to the 2.5Gbit connection. Typically it’s 2.4 or 5 GHz. Edit: that’s correct. Wi-Fi signals operate on radio frequencies, connecting a router to a card. You should run a speed test to check the actual performance.

Restart your router. The negotiation problem between the TP link and the router is likely the cause.
