Hello everyone, I'm trying to build something with an i7-10700k and an AMD processor to compare. For the Intel option, I'm unsure which Asus ROG Strix Z490 model to choose. There are the E, F, and H variants, but except for the E with Wi-Fi, I can't find major differences between them. The A model doesn't appeal to me in terms of color. Could anyone help me decide? Thanks a lot!
Consider postponing your purchase until new models arrive. The competition may help reduce costs, and you could find a better deal on a motherboard.

I’m looking at an upgrade from your current i7-6700K+Asus Z170-Pro. I’m considering a budget of 250-300€ just for the new motherboard, if it makes sense. I’d like to swap out the CPU and power supply while you wait for the 3080. Since you’ve used Asus hardware before, I think going with Asus would be a good fit.
The Strix Z490-E stands out as the main ASUS Z490 board I suggest in this list (besides the Prime Z490-P for budget buyers), because it offers real competition with other brands in its price range (around €270-300). If we focus solely on value, the Z490-F seems to deliver a well-rounded performance. The VRM isn’t as powerful as the Z490-E, but it should still work fine with a 10700K or possibly even a 10900K if you manage daily overclocking. The Z490-H lacks the Type-C front panel compared to the Z490-F, and one M.2 slot is missing its heatspreader plus a heatpipe—though these issues aren’t major. The VRM design matches that of the F model.
