No compatible driver available for Intel ME.
Hey there, I’m looking for some guidance. I have an old i7-3770 from the third generation HP desktop running Windows 11 PRO. I can’t update the management software and keep getting a wrong driver error. Here are the details: Model – HP Compaq Pro 600 SFF SN: SGH343QLS3. Specs include Intel Core i7-3770 CPU, 4GB + 4GB DDR3 at 1600MHZ, Intel HD Graphics, and a 240GB Kingston A400 SATA SSD. The Windows 11 PRO driver is available via the provided link, but the management engine version is stuck at 8.1.31.1351. I’ve updated the BIOS to version 3.08 but still can’t get the driver updated. The error appears during startup, and I’m stuck. I tried a temporary fix by changing the jumper on the motherboard to disable Intel AMT in BIOS, which stopped the error. Please help me resolve this issue.
Do you truly require the Intel ME or is it merely to prevent errors during every startup? If this were your case, I’d opt for the temporary fix and give up. Online resources suggest several options such as resetting the CMOS memory and restoring BIOS to factory settings. Should these methods fail, HP advises considering a full motherboard replacement due to a hardware issue. I understand this isn’t practical, but HP support seems unreliable. It might be wise for your workplace to think about upgrading this device. This machine is quite outdated, running Windows 11 Pro in an unsupported version. Future hardware problems are likely, and it’s probable the system won’t be compatible with Windows 11. This could eventually require replacing the unit entirely. Hope this clarifies things.
I aimed to fix the ME due to the issue, but the jumper cable is just a temporary fix. I hope to understand the main problem causing the error.
