They consistently set a maximum for non-Z boards. For 100 series, it was 2133 (back then DDR4 was emerging), 2400 for 200 series, 2666 for 300 series, and 2666 again for i5/i3 in the 400 series, with i7/i9 getting 2933. There were occasional exceptions like B250 boards that worked across all speeds, but this depended entirely on the manufacturer's choice. No clear trend exists.

Feel free to arrive late. The B560 is available, and overclocking with XMP RAM is feasible on that platform.

It's late, but the i5 10400 turned out to be a poor choice at launch. Its speed didn't match the 3600 with 2666MHz, which really hurt its reception.

It seems like you're reviewing a product listing. The current price is 10,400, it includes a B560 motherboard, and it offers improved RAM options.

If B560 boards are affordable, it would be disappointing if their price matched that of budget Z490 boards, meaning you wouldn't really save any money.

The B560 steel price in my country is more than in the US, which means the US rate could be around $110 for the same model.

It costs around $110 to $120 for the most affordable H570 and B560 models, which is pretty reasonable when you look at it next to the $150 price tag for the Z490.

This brings positive updates for Intel and gamers who don’t require a top-tier system to enjoy features, while still maintaining solid performance.
