Most of their modpacks get updates at a slow rate (you can check here https://www.curseforge.com/members/FTB/p...ct-status= ). It’s unclear if this means the game is dead.

Tekkit passed away, but the group continues to play "Attack of the b-team." It looks like FTB remains the core of the scene.

I would love having my own Tekkit server, honestly. I only learned Java to customize it and introduce cool features.

It's affordable and simple - I'm running mine on a VPS with 4 Xeon cores, 12GB RAM, and 300GB SSD for just 8€ a month. There are many other things on it, including SkyFactory3, and most servers only require basic anti-grief to function. You don’t usually need to build your own mods; just learn how they work and adapt accordingly.
