CPU model is Ryzen 5 2600, stock cooler for GPU is GTX 1060 6GB RAM is 16GB, clock speed is 3200MHz. Motherboard is B450 Tomahawk Max. While performing tasks the temperature stays steady near 50°C, it rises to 60-65°C when Task Manager is active but drops back to 90°C after a while if you close everything except HWMonitor. Opening Task Manager reduces CPU usage to 2-3% and lowers the temp. A full Windows Defender scan showed no issues. Even running System Explorer after seeing 100% utilization in HWMonitor produced the same result. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The task manager indicates that a program is consuming your CPU. It might be running cryptocurrency mining software while your computer is idle.

Maybe using Resource Monitor instead of Task Manager might trick it? You could also try a third-party tool that shows tasks. If nothing works, a full Windows reinstall—using the settings option to preserve your files—will likely fix the issue.
