I own an i5-6600k processor and a Gigabyte Z170-sli motherboard that doesn’t support overclocking. Regardless of BIOS adjustments, all my monitoring tools (aida64, cpuz, hwmonitor, HWiNFO64) display standard frequencies and voltages except for realtemp, which seems inaccurate. These readings persist after each restart but disappear once the system boots. HWinfo64 indicates that modifying the BIOS multiplier affects the "CPU turbo" status (see attached image), yet the CPU remains at base frequency even when under stress.

What I have attempted:
- Removing the CMOS battery.
- Resetting the CMOS pins.
- Activating and disabling Intel Turbo Boost, with conflicting advice on whether it should be off or on.
- Disabling auto settings and manually inputting stock values, which had no effect.
- Running benchmarks, games, and reaching 100% CPU usage without any change in load conditions.

The only minor adjustments that worked were altering the base clock from 100MHz, though this caused instability due to the inability to adjust voltage.

Just to confirm, you arranged it in the same way as the person in the link?

I tried a guide like that before, but nothing worked. Now I've been advised to use something similar:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1570313/skyla...statistics
but that didn't help either.

Mark RM:
Are you using the F22c BIOS?
I'm currently running F22a and plan to attempt an update, though I don't anticipate any changes. The patch notes don't mention overclocking.

They commit errors and don't inform you about the fixes. I was considering reverting to version F21.

They have mistakes and don't inform you they fixed them. I was considering rolling back to F21. Neither Bios has worked for me. The CPU temps are low (~50), but the moderate 3.9GHZ OC with [strike]2.3V [/strike] 1.3 isn't working.

2.3V? moderate? 2.3 to the CPU would blow it sky high, try no more than 1.4v

2.3V? is that moderate? The voltage at 2.3 to the CPU would be too high, stay under 1.4v.
Mistake, corrected. I meant 1.3.

It just appears quite odd. Are you certain it's a K series CPU? (not meant to be deliberately confusing, but there seem to be only a handful of possible explanations for this issue)
