No, you can't run Coop on the same machine without a network connection. It requires internet access to download and update the game.

The X360 model includes a couch cover, and the PC version likely does as well.

Just tried it out. It works really well. You can support up to four players on a couch and mix controllers too. I tested it with three people—one using the keyboard, another with an Xbox 360 controller, and the last with an Acme GA02. Everything seems to function smoothly.

I understand the xb feature, though PC games tend to be more limited with couch co-op. I’m only getting it for me and a friend since she often wants to play split screen.
