I'm currently in South Korea. I purchased the Day Zero edition and spent all day playing yesterday. Now I can't even access online games, and they only appear in the Steam store when I use a VPN. However, with the VPN my ping is terrible and I can't play. This is really frustrating because this version is great and it's so enjoyable.
Extremely improbable. Consider rebooting your computer. It's possible the servers are experiencing issues.
It's feasible. The initial campaign objectives indicate South Korea was damaged by North Korea. I doubt they would have appreciated that @chrismlachcik
South* North is severely impacting South in the current campaign. North Koreans launch an invasion of Seoul and completely obliterate it. This explains my hypothesis about why it might be restricted in South Korea. Indeed, NK is problematic. It seems like the dictators are involved, though people clearly have limited options (obviously).
With the VPN enabled, the game appears in the store. Are you really taking this seriously right now? I really enjoy the game, but they banned it recently. Did they not test it before releasing it and approve its launch?
