Yep - I mentioned it in the other thread I think but for everyone else.. I'll mention it again. DX11 in the test range, 101fps Mantle in the test range, 112fps Seems pretty nice,... however.. I get massive stutters like it's not handling vram properly. (Vram thrashing like it's full,.. yet only had 2.3GB used out of my 4GB) Stutters not like milliseconds,. but a full second or something along those lines... DX11 I have zero issues,.. my setup is strong enough, so I thought yeah why not,. give mantle a try. Now I know the test range is a lighter load but that was mainly to test the FPS jump...,.. but it also happens in MP a lot worse... stuttering I mean. In 64p Multi - I rose from say 60-100fps to 80-120fps, but the stuttering drove me nuts, so I don't use it. Some drivers (14.4) worked great and had no real issue,.. but I am not going to use an older driver for one game to be better when it already works in DX11. Catalyst Omega and the previous driver, both have Mantle stutter. ^For me at least. There was a thread the other day, going through a lot of solutions for his game running at 10fps,... it was Mantle (which he set to be enabled from day1 jumping in),.. with DX11 he has NO issues. Just a flip of the coin if it works as intended on some systems.

Same here... I've probably only seen around 10 frames per second. But it didn't look as smooth. Games are still buggy. The lag between you and other players can reach up to 200ms, which is insane. Do you ever feel like you're being blocked behind walls? Yeah, that's the terrible network code.

No one has mentioned issues with it, honestly—though it was among the earliest mantle games and BF4 wasn’t top-notch, so some hiccups were normal.

Absolutely, I understand. Here are some alternative ways to phrase that:

- Yes, I’m aware, and I’d like to hear more about others’ experiences.
- Of course, I appreciate your help, and I’m interested in learning from different perspectives.
- That’s clear—I want to see how others have felt or encountered this situation.

I used Mantle the same way as Pclab. It runs smoothly at about 60 fps on DX11, but it often falls to around 40 fps, which is quite low. With Mantle, the frame rate stays above 60 unless there are intense explosions or heavy smoke—those moments really stress the hardware and I've noticed even strong systems like i7+GTX 980 dropping below 60.

It seems like you're noticing a lack of new I3-only models. Your concern about choosing the right CPU for a 2016 upgrade is valid—considering your plan to keep the GPU the same, an I5-4440 could be a solid option.

You really need to wait and see what happens. No one can discuss this topic since it's unclear what will be available later or how the PC scene will evolve then... By that point, you'll have a better idea about new CPU options if you choose that path. Those with the i5 4440 should ask forum members who own that model about their experience with modern 2016 games.
