No boot for the 7950X, 128 GB RAM. Expo won't start when enabled.
when I enable Expo/XMP it no longer boots. there is no flashing light, the mobo has 1 red light on it and it comes solid. I don't have a speaker for it so i dont know if its beeping at me but i just get no display until i clear the CMOS. After looking at other motherboards since replacing 1 mobo is cheaper then 2 ram kits on restocking fees, i am finding that non of the mobo show they are compatible with 64 gig ram kits. so is the 4800 mhz going to be the best it can do until a new bios come out or did i do a dumb and the ram i got will never be able to run at its speeds and thus i should swap it. also I know you have to give it time sometimes for it to train the memory when you enable. I left it for a hour and it never booted. I have not finished installing all windows updates/chipset drivers but unless I missing something, windows updates/chipset shouldn't effect this since its all done in Bios. so while I am mentioning it i don't believe it to be an issue but maybe I'm wrong. EXPO on 128GB is currently not performing well. It might get better later, but now you're probably limited to 4800.
I've been looking into this and found similar results. Thanks for confirming. My brother, who usually helps, said it should work. I'm checking all available info but can't locate solid support. I'm fine as long as I don't make any mistakes with my RAM choices. Better to pay the 15% restock fee now than deal with expensive upgrades later.
I’m willing to give it a shot. The computer starts up normally, but it doesn’t auto-overclock the RAM. It seems like the system might not be able to boot properly if the port is faulty. I also noticed I installed the RAM brand new from the box and placed it in the first slot before doing anything else. If the port was clean, it would have come in clean.
It was the same issue where it could start up but not run xmp. I also suspect there might be no compatibility with 128GB RAM at 5600MHz. Good luck!
