I have an RX 6500 XT and am considering upgrading to PCIe Gen 4. I’m looking into getting an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and an Asus ROG Strix B550-A motherboard. Would this combination provide the performance increase you’re hoping for?

They also back PCIe 4.0 for the graphics card port and a single NVMe connection.

Sure, I'll keep it concise. The top X16 slot works well for this setup. The B550-A tends to cost significantly more than comparable boards with similar features and design.

I'm considering purchasing this combo. You mentioned another option you'd like to explore. Let me know if you have alternatives in mind.

Thats a ripoff, heres a better deal Spend a few $ more and you can have a 12700f + prime b660 plus d4 which is far better than it Btw may aswell get a build plan cause 6500xt is a pretty horrible gpu choice and im sure theres somewhere you can cut costs like overpriced cases, useless overpriced aesthetics, overpriced ssds, etc.

This price is roughly $50 higher than expected. You can purchase it for $50 less and it will perform similarly. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kwRHGL You can also opt for the 12100F with a more affordable B660 board, still retaining Gen 4 features if needed. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kYMH3y

Sure, I can look for a more visually appealing motherboard option while keeping AMD as an alternative if needed.

Avoid using a CPU with a G core, or it will get stuck on PCIe3
