No available USB installers for Windows 10 OEM.
I just checked several vendors such as Bhphoto and Newegg to compare an OEM copy of Windows 10 against purchasing directly from Microsoft. Unfortunately, there isn’t an OEM Windows 10 USB version available from those sites. DVDs are offered, but no USB drives. It seems confusing since many systems, especially notebooks, don’t even include an ODD. This really puzzles me because my current rig was built in 2013 and a Windows 8 OEM cost around $100.
You can create your own version for a minimal cost, like a basic USB drive from Microsoft's site.
I completed it, but MS is asking $139 for activation. I just feel it should cost less.
They give you a code confirming the OEM match? Yes, you should be able to enter it during setup. The installer will determine which version fits based on that code. The FBI won’t force you to use it. Some keys might get removed from Microsoft’s list later, which is why they’re called the grey market. Many of these codes are legitimate but sold in countries with weaker regulations, making them cheaper. People often buy and resell them in places where Windows is more popular. Of course, there are those who obtain keys using stolen cards and sell them, which also contributes to the grey market situation.
OEM options are more affordable, possibly indicating a retail price. Amazon lists it at $130.
You can place it on the USB drive you created and turn it on using an OEM key, without needing to purchase installation media.
