The exact Lenovo model number of your laptop is listed on the underside, not the serial number.

These are the sole audio driver options available on Lenovo’s site, dated October 2022. It seems to be a system running an AMD Ryzen processor, so updating the chipset drivers using this tool would also be advisable:

I need the appropriate audio output driver for your PC. However, Lenovo claims it's out-of-warranty. You can't afford to spend money on a new PC because of software issues. You already had a 50/50 chance with a Christmas gift from your parents in October 2023 that cost nearly $750.

Don't worry, I'll try to sort this out in time for your Zoom appointment. Let's break it down into some easy steps:
System Restore
: Have you tried using System Restore? It's like a time machine for your computer. It takes your system back to a point where everything was working fine. To do this, type "Create a restore point" in the Windows search bar, open it, and see if you have a restore point from before the update.
Update Audio Drivers
: Sometimes, updating or reinstalling your audio drivers does the trick. Right-click on the Start button, choose 'Device Manager', find your audio device under 'Sound, video and game controllers', right-click on it, and select 'Update driver'. If that doesn't work, you can try 'Uninstall device' and then restart your computer to reinstall the driver.
Check Audio Settings
: It's worth double-checking your audio settings. Right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar, select 'Open Sound settings', and make sure your output device is correctly selected.
Windows Updates
: If the problem started after an update, another new update might fix it. Go to 'Settings', then 'Update & Security', and check for updates.
External Audio Device
: If you have an external speaker or headphones, try using them. Sometimes the issue is just with the built-in speakers.
Third-Party Software
: Consider using third-party software like 'Audio Troubleshooter' that might help diagnose the problem.
Professional Help
: If all else fails and time is running short, maybe a tech-savvy friend or a professional can help.

I don't like System Restore. It often makes things worse than they were before.
I've been trying to do that, but it's not working.
No audio reaching the external speaker or headphones.
BTDT didn't help.
Maybe I need to try again.

I had a retired tech from my neighborhood who worked in the Research Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Wake Forest). He told me I wouldn't be able to replace the Audio Output Driver, but I could use the Bluetooth feature of my computer. At first, that meant transferring my non-Bluetooth capable external 4.1 sound system. I discovered this guide: https://thehometheaterdiy.com/turn-a-reg...h-speaker/ It explains how to connect the four satellite RCA speakers.
