The post describes the situation and solutions tried for playing a game on different operating systems. It mentions using Windows 8.1 Pro, disabling AMD audio, reinstalling the game, installing DX9, running in compatibility mode for Windows 7, and considering stereo mix settings on recording devices. The user notes they had no issues in Windows 7 and saw a suggestion from another forum.

Have you checked all available settings for the game, launcher and Windows to find anything?

There is no option for sound in game. If you mean the shortcut as launcher there is no sound option in properties. I m installing another game now to test sound. I m thinking to uninstall amd hd audio because it may conflict with realtek.

It seems there are no controls for adjusting game audio volume. That's unusual.

Interesting since I resolved the issue by reinstalling DX9 redist.

I added the splinter cell blacklist and the game also installed DirectX. Now I can hear sound in both titles. Initially, I thought a missing component was present, but it was resolved after installing the other game's DX version. Appreciate the help!
