I own an ASUS TUF FX504 2018 with an i5-8300H / GTX 1050. You're aware it struggles with cooling, so I attempted to lower the voltage. It appears the settings are stuck at Throttle Stop and Intel XTU. Using BIOS 320 (latest) — can I disable the voltage control? I really hope this improves reliability, since the laptop needs to last another two to three years.

Asus has disabled CPU voltage control on many of their laptops. You may need to download an outdated BIOS version not listed on the official Asus site. Check the Notebook Review forum for possible solutions and see if someone has an earlier BIOS that supports this feature.
