I'm curious about this silence. No one seems to be asking AMD or searching for solutions on PC sites or YouTube channels. Even though AMD hasn't mentioned Zen 3 Threadripper CPUs, I think these chips could really change things thanks to unified cache and better performance per instruction. They might especially benefit X gamers and users who enjoy gaming alongside work. Yet nobody seems to notice—just a few old posts pop up here and there without answers or hints about what's coming. Do you think AMD isn't planning to release more Threadripper models? Maybe the AM4 stock for Zen 3 is limiting production, so they're not pushing new designs?
If there's one thing we've learned (or at least I) over the years, it's that AMD talks about Threadripper when they're good and ready. It's relatively niche and there's already trouble spreading the highly binned stuff around in decent quantities.
Expect updates around February. Current stock isn't enough for standard Ryzens, so they're promoting Threadripper due to new consoles launching before Christmas and fresh video cards from both firms. They’re using high-quality dies, reserving top ones for EPYC processors, then allocating the rest to Threadripper, with any remaining going to Ryzen chips. It makes sense they prioritize EPYC for better profit margins in datacenter sales. As for AMD, it seems counterintuitive to harm their own product line when Threadripper is already costly and demand isn’t urgent right now.
They haven't even touched the most crucial market yet—the $200 tier, apparently. So it seems unlikely we'll see TR in the next few months, probably. But stay calm; it will come. Just because AMD leads right now doesn't mean they can stop. Otherwise Intel would reclaim that position quickly.
