Hello! The title gives a clear idea, so I ended up canceling my Kapresky subscription and testing Malwarebytes instead. I was confused because I thought malware and viruses were the same, but Windows seems to treat them differently—it keeps asking me to download an antivirus. My main question is whether I really need another program alongside Malwarebytes. Thanks!

Malwarebytes plus Microsoft Security Essentials should do the job. I haven’t used any antivirus in the last two years, and my PC scan a few days back showed no viruses. Be aware I often download a lot of random files.

Malwarebytes and Avast free antivirus work well together. Malwarebytes focuses on detecting and eliminating malware, while Avast offers broader protection. No need to rely solely on Malwarebytes; combining both gives comprehensive coverage.

Malware isn't always viruses and these two aren't the same. Personally, I don't rely on antivirus software; Avast or AVG works well for free, while paid options like Bitdefender are excellent value.

I faced many challenges cleaning a computer overloaded with viruses and malware. I tested four malware programs but couldn't eliminate the last stubborn one. After using an anti-virus, it finally disappeared. Now I’m using Malwarebytes Pro along with Norton Internet Security 2014, which they integrate perfectly.
