In 2017 I built a PC with a budget in mind. I chose the cheapest motherboard available, an ASUS H110-M, which functions well and meets my requirements. However, the i5-7400 I’m currently using may show signs of wear sooner than expected. I explored upgrade options and discovered affordable used i7-7700K processors. I’m confident the socket and chipset match, but my main concern is whether the VRMs can handle the increased load. With a decent power supply, two drives, two memory sticks, and a GTX 1050 (potential for future upgrades), I’m wondering if the upgrade is worthwhile and whether my board can support it.
