This configuration should work well. Your Asus A320m-k supports 3000MHz RAM, and with the Vengeance LPX 1x8 stick paired with a Ryzen 3 1300X, you're in a solid setup. No need to upgrade the motherboard unless you want extra performance.

It doesn't matter, all A320 chipsets only handle up to 2666mhz memory. If you can't pay for 2x8gb=16gb, aim for 2x4gb=8gb because dual-channel is essential for performance. The R3 1300X isn't worth it since the R3 1200 can be overclocked to match or exceed it at a lower cost—choose the 1200 or upgrade to the R5 1400 for SMT. Definitely pick B450; even the cheapest B450 will outperform any board with the A320 chipset.

Consider purchasing a different model, like 2x4GB instead of 1x8GB.

Remarkable how they reacted so poorly; their main goal was simply to prevent you from purchasing the A320 chipset. With that chipset, you can run RAM up to 3200 MHz, which is what I have right now. Clearly, you couldn’t run OC in the processor, but the memory would still work.
