In my country, prices range from 5700x to 190€, with the 5800x being roughly 30€ higher. I prefer the 5700x mainly for its lower TDP. I use the PC mostly for light tasks and only 30% for gaming where CPU power matters. For most of the time I value quiet operation and energy efficiency. Recently prices shifted, making the 5800x just 30€ more. Would the 5800x at light usage match the noise and power of the 5700x? Can I adjust it to act like a 5700x using AMD Ryzen Master? I have the budget for the 5800x, but noise remains my priority. I plan to invest in a high-performance cooler and quiet case to keep fans low. The gaming performance difference is likely around 5%. What should I do?

Get the 5700X and allocate the 30 to a cooler. Those CPUs work similarly.

CPUs themselves don't produce sound; it's the coolers that generate noise, and the cooling solution you choose affects the volume. You can tweak PPC settings to reduce power consumption, preventing the CPU from drawing more than the BIOS permits instead of relying on Ryzen Master. If you're working with a 5800X, it's probably better to opt for the 5700X, as using it would lower performance to match that model's capabilities.

I planned to scale the 5800x to match the 5700x, and when I need to play, revert it to the standard setting if that’s simple.

They're essentially the same CPU but with minor clock adjustments. Choose the 5700X for a higher-end cooling option.

You're considering upgrading from 5800x to 5700x, which is a cooler option. It's also possible to adjust the TDP of 5700x to match that of 5800x.

The review states the 5800x @ 1080 offers a 5% boost in gaming performance. It seems minor before the GPU becomes a bottleneck, though it’s only an extra 30€. My uncertainty came from that price difference.

No, I'm not using 1080p.

Your gaming requirements seem quite modest, so the recommendation of the 5700 plus an additional 30 euros for better cooling was appropriate. I agree with that approach. If you prefer to play at 1440p for the extra visual appeal the 5800 could provide, it might have a bit more to offer, though I don’t know your monitor model. Still, a 5 percent improvement at around 30 euros is minimal.
