No alternative sleep settings exist post-installation of Windows 10
I ran a fresh installation of Windows 10 and the upgrade didn’t work, but I activated my key. Now I notice the SLEEP option is missing from Power Options, the Power & Sleep page in settings, and other power menus. Anyone have any advice or experience with this issue? I examined all available settings and control panel components. I plan to share some screenshots of the issues I encountered after work. I’ve checked common locations, but haven’t found a solution yet since I can’t locate the installation disk. Some users suggest using GPU driver updates, which I haven’t tried because I’m still searching for the correct install media.
That makes sense. Visual aids would be useful. A screenshot of Device Manager could assist.
This might be one of two problems: 1) Your system doesn't allow sleep mode or hibernation, which is rare. 2) You're missing a driver, possibly your graphics card driver is disabled. Visit the NVIDIA site to download it. If that doesn't resolve it, check your motherboard manufacturer for the appropriate drivers—Windows usually provides basic ones. It could be that your computer doesn't recognize the drive, or there was an issue during installation.
You're having some trouble getting drivers for your setup. I downloaded the latest MoBo driver, but the original installation media is missing from the box. I'm trying to get USB3 ports enabled, which seems tricky. My GPU is an Nvidia GeForce GT730, and I'm not sure how to locate the original disc or help from the Nvidia site. It looks like this might be a GPU issue, especially since CounterStrike: Source is lagging at 10fps. I'm hoping to find the driver before the 25th or wait for a better upgrade.
I suspect a problem with the GPU is causing the issue. After the last Windows install, I used the NVIDIA driver and tried booting in safe mode to see if it helped. My network performance dropped significantly, then improved after I cleaned the drivers. I think restarting this way might boost your frame rate.
