Hello, Your B550 gaming X v2 MB features an 8-pin ATX12 port, whereas the Cooler Master RS500 ASAB-L3 provides two four-pin connectors. Following the diagram, only one connector matches the correct shape (two squares in yellow, two trapezoids in red, marked 4P). The other has four trapezoids and a 4+ designation. I managed to connect the 4P unit. Is this sufficient, or would you need to switch the power supply?

I'm more worried about the PSU being quite old and replacing it just to be sure. But if the power cables are correctly positioned—meaning the colors match the other four pins so the eight-pin is all yellow on one side and all black on the other—and that the four-connector fits (even if it's not square)—it should work.

It matches the 8-pin socket design for a 12V motherboard. Connect both ends together. If the yellow and black wires align properly, the connections are correct.
