I acquired a capture card for my PS4 about a year back. My main concern is whether my laptop can manage the workload during extended use.

Second PC could offer better value. If you're aiming for a single PC setup, you're likely considering HEDT. For around 60 FPS, a Threadripper works, but if you need higher framerates it's the pricier Intel X299 options. A more basic rig like an iGPU with an 8100 should handle streaming well, as it's built specifically for that purpose.

Capture card should handle most rendering workloads, allowing the main task to be software-only. You could simply test it out and observe the results. I haven’t personally used capture cards, so I lack direct insight into how much streaming or recording affects the system while the card encodes.
