Looking at a potential 9900K payout, I'm wondering if my 7700's fan would fit. I've got an AIO water cooler on the way, but it won't be ready soon enough for testing.

It's the same dimensions. However, when referring to a stock cooler, it might become warm, but it should work fine as a short-term fix.

Hey, I was talking about the stock cooler. It’s just for a short time to try it out with my setup before buying the AIO. After confirming it works, I’ll stop using it until then.

Using a stock cooler from Intel on a 9900K can help with thermal throttling, but it might not be the best choice. It could work, but personal advice suggests caution.

He mentioned it lasts two days—no problem if it slows down while you set up Windows and programs.

It should fit well and function properly. The cooling system won’t be top-notch, but it should suffice for basic testing. I’d hold off until the upgraded cooling is available.

I verified its performance with the 7700K fan. It maintains a very high temperature during idle, making it unsuitable for regular use. I'm still awaiting my AIO, expected tomorrow.

It should function, but you'll need to lower the speed significantly. Consider getting a Hyper 212 instead if that helps.

It should work for a few days. Just adjust the CPU speed to around x30 on the multiplier.
