I increased my A8 6600K from 3.9 to 4.3GHz using standard voltage settings. It now runs at 60-61°C and stays within safe limits, given its maximum temperature of 74°C. The CPU isn’t overheating yet, but I added a small voltage boost after Prime95 reported hardware failure. It seems the changes are holding up without damage so far.
Is it okay to operate at that temperature? 61C remains completely secure.
Volts are fine. 60 works, 80 is acceptable. 90 feels a bit high, 100 is too extreme, and around 105 might cause shutdown.
I'm using a stock cooler, but I plan to swap it soon. Next week I'll test Prime95 for an hour and it reported a hardware issue, so I adjusted the voltage by 0.006. I also ran Cinebench R15, which scored 325 points.
