It seems likely a CPU design change will happen soon, and 32GB storage cards will become standard before 4X8GB RAM is considered outdated.

Basically, it's fine now. The earlier Ryzens setup was a bit sensitive, but with the latest CPU and an X570 board, you shouldn't run into issues. Just avoid pushing them too high unless you really need overclocking; 4400MHz won't be a problem with four sticks, though 3600 should be perfect.

I understand but I often don’t know the duration or purpose of a system. Assuming standard specs works best.
