4 sticks of 8GB provide the same capacity as two 16GB units, but note that two additional RAM slots are set aside.

Technically two units will be set aside for future use. For the OP, the situation depends—it won’t be necessary since bandwidth remains consistent for consumer devices. Additionally, there’s increased strain on the interconnect and the imc when using Ryzen.

Same price means 2x16. Most folks opt for 4x8 since we initially purchased 2x8 and added to it later. I’d never choose 4x8 on a fresh project—I always keep space for future upgrades.
