In short, 8 pin connectors work well for most mainstream CPUs, except for extreme models and the FX 9590. The extra four pins are meant for enthusiast overclocked chips or high-performance systems. I think your PSU should have enough power capacity for future CPU upgrades.

Sure, except for the unusual ones that go against the norm. Even then, those extra pins seem like just a silly marketing trick.
