Checking if others have tried it, I see mixed feedback. Some users mention performance issues on PC due to lack of optimization, while others report decent functionality. It's worth looking at current reviews to get a clearer picture.
Absolutely, it's an amazing title. If you enjoy hack and slash or spectacle fighters with intense gunplay, this port will work great on PC. It's true the game isn't perfect yet, but the mod developed by a developer has resolved many of the biggest problems. You can find it on GitHub, and they're releasing regular updates. A patch is coming soon via SE, so for now the mod is your top recommendation.
It’s not an awful port, though there are a few quirks. It usually displays around 900p in fullscreen, even though the resolution you configured is higher. The FAR mod resolves this easily. The game offers most standard PC ports and supports resolutions from 4K up to 21:9. The frame rate is fixed at 60 FPS. You can rebind both keyboard and controller, though I’d suggest using the controller version. Some users reported performance hiccups, but I haven’t experienced them. I ran it at maximum settings at 1080p with a GTX 1070 and kept steady at 60 FPS. The FAR mod lets you adjust global illumination settings, and I’ve heard some players notice big gains by tweaking that. I haven’t tested it myself. The game is outstanding—hard to comment much without giving away the experience. I’ve logged around 70 hours across three runs so far, and there’s still more story left to explore.
The FAR mod has indeed unlocked frame rate, though I haven't tested it yet. Global illumination can significantly impact performance. My setup includes a 1070 and I run at 1440p; lowering the illumination settings makes a big difference. However, I've observed that using settings below Medium causes some shadow LODs to fail.
You're welcome on your understanding. Yes, you've played the game without any mods. The PC version is still available, though it won't be released soon. It feels like a temporary fix for not being able to play FFXV. Since you're using an Asus PG248Q at 1080p, lowering the brightness might indeed improve performance slightly.
I applied the FAR mod to resolve the fullscreen resolution problem. The installation process is very straightforward, especially with the Automatic Installation option from my previous post. I also adjusted some shaders using ReShade, but that didn’t address any issues with the port. I wasn’t aware of those changes. The game continues to receive active updates, and I’ve noticed new features while playing. I still use a 60 Hz monitor.
